1986 Can't Come Fast Enough
Tracking down memory fragmentation and usage issues in a giant overcomplicated UI system sans source code. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
This little blog never quite getting off the ground can be attributed to several different factors. As could probably be guessed, the last several months have made spare time and energy scarce luxuries. As I have nowhere near anything approximating a blogging 'addiction' it has made inspiration hard to come by. Then we have the little matter of months seeming to disappear in the blink of an eye.
With all the busy hectic activity around here one would at least assume I had plenty of material. Except of course, I really can't talk about most of what I'm spending my time and life on. A bit of a problem that. To be fair, most of it isn't that interesting to me, much less a casual reader. And, as is usually the case, the real interesting bits I *definitely* can't talk about in public. Stupid legal ramifications!
I have been struck by a far bit of nostalgia lately. This is probably a reflection of my current activities being, well, not very fun or engaging, even if they are demanding and time consuming. Sometimes I will swivel in my chair and wistfully reflect on the 'Good Old Days'. The fact that I recently reorganized my boxes of books and have my technical library of historical computer literature filling a bookshelf in my office has only served to fuel the feeling.
So I think what you'll be seeing in the near future is some of my reminisces and trip down the memory lane of a boy raised by an Apple II. You might find it fascinating, you might find it utterly boring, but at least it won't be dead air!
